Where we began
We come from a strong product development background with our historic roots firmly planted in the defence and mining industry. Communication Technology was and is strongly at the focus of most of our current and previous developments.
In early 2017 we started exploring possible Communication Technologies that can enable IoT with scale rollout and we have since then focused our attention on LPWAN. Visiosoft was the first developer and producer of various LPWAN technologies in Africa and we continue to lead from the front.
Visiosoft has the unique ability to push various data/sensor sources into local and cloud based services using existing, custom and leading edge communication technologies. Various I/O interfaces, integrated sensors and edge computing technologies gives our products the proverbial “edge”.
We are proudly South African providing solutions to the World. Our team have various expertise to provide end to end solutions with a strong focus on smart product firmware and agile operations. Besides developing our own products we further produce with large scaling capability with more than 40k+ devices to date.

Our expertise include
Since graduating from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002 (BEng Degree Electric / Electronic), Johan has established himself as a competent Hardware and Software Architect. Johan is well-known in the Mining and Defense sectors as a consultant architect specialising in rugged computing and sensor applications.
Johan has a strong proficiency in applications and sub-systems areas that include Radar, Communications, DSP computing solutions, Image processing and Video Tracking.
Initially a business partner of Rugged Interconnect Technologies for 6 years, Johan went on to launch Visio Technologies, and later Lantern Engineering. He has completed successful programs for Tellumat, Denel and alike, using custom design implementations using COTS, MOTS and custom implementations in both software as well as hardware.
